badgelogo2.JPGAt last! The first away win of the season! It finally came at the expense of poor Wigan, in the form of a terrific thrashing that shows what Liverpool are really capable of when they play football proper. Four great goals from open play; properly built up and masterfully executed! All the players had a good game especially – thank god – the strikers who between them scored three of the four goals; Bellamy getting two and Kuyt another.

I’m sorry if I sound pessimistic – especially after a great game – when I repeat that Anfield needs a new striker! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Benitez adds David Villa to his armada of Spaniards! Waiting for someone to step up his game next to Gerrard – this time it was Bellamy, who had high morale after clearing his name from a court case in Wales! – every now and then will not yield consistency. January is the time to make a proper new acquisition and save another awful season.
